There are many great sad times in Human history, and these times are not always that of death or strife either. Some of these periods of time are when the Human race treats its own kind like animals. A great example of this would have been during the Atlantic Slave Trade where millions of Africans were sold into slavery. Though one of the saddest times in Human history was during the Industrial Revolution, when children worked in factories. Their conditions and treatment where so horrible that many great governments would begin to take notice of these conditions. The Sadler Report was a report written in 1832 by Michael Sadler. The document purported to expose the substandard working conditions of children working in textile factories as well as women during the Industrial Revolution. The Report included testimonies of workers in the factory, who spoke before the Sadler committee, led by Michael Sadler. When someone mentions Spartans the first image that comes to mind is that of a great warrior society where everyone from the King to the lonely soldier was equal. Why were they so great at war though? What made them such a great a warrior society? Xenophon’s The Polity of the Spartans , written in c. 375 BCE, which is a literary text that describes the way young men were raised in Sparta to become strong citizens with a sense of civic duty and how their upbringing turned them into such fierce warriors. Though it is much more than just that as a Polity is a “form or constitution of a politically organized unit” (Merriam-Webster n.d.) . Xenophon describes the rules that Lycurgus, the lawgiver of Sparta, established to reform Spartan society into a military-oriented culture (Lycurgus n.d.) . The Polity of the Spartans describes how Lycurgus was able to create a society of equals and teach his people how to fight through the trials and tribulations of their lives and survive.       

In today’s modern age it is hard to think of what civilization was like between 8000 BCE to 1450 BCE. With the lap of luxuries, we have today, it is difficult to understand what brought us to this era sometimes. One must understand what life was like back in that time period and know what they did not have that we have today. There are so many important innovations that took place in between 8000 BCE to 1450 BCE that it is hard to strip away the innovations and come up with just three that were most likely the root causes for creating civilizations as we know it. There is only one important innovation during this time, the Neolithic Revolution, but by breaking down this major innovation into lesser innovations, which leads us to just three of the most important innovations that occurred from 8000 BCE to 1450 BCE. In Harm's Way is about the aftermath of the Pearl Harbor attack. After the devastating Japanese attack, a veteran naval commander, Captain Rockwell Torrey, is assigned to command a small fleet of Naval vessels. His mission to retaliate against the Japanese initially ends disastrously. He must juggle the complex relationships between his lover, friend and son while leading the attack on a chain of Pacific Islands held by the Japanese (In Harm's Way, 2019; Preminger, 1964).             Though not your typical romance or true relationship movie, In Harm’s Way exhibits the five of the course concepts of I-Thou (Wood, 2016, pp. 13-4) , dismissive attachment (Wood, 2016, pp. 52-3) , self-serving bias (Wood, 2016, pp. 82-3) , Eros love style (Wood, 2016, p. 312) , and emotions (Wood, 2016, p. 193) .             The most important concept from In Harm’s Way that Wood goes over in the text is I-Thou , this is a form of human dialogue where each person affirms the other as

The state of education in the United States is ever fluctuating as the nation tries to catch up with new technologies and improve our educational scores. It seems the country is more worried about test scores and not the actual education the student is learning. The nation has neglected the personalized education that e-earning can provide, but can e-learning help every student? Chatterji and Jones agree that there are numerous recommendations for arresting the decline in American education, by focusing on how educational technology can improve educational outcomes (2012) . School Districts in the United States are not ready for that level of technology though and moving to a strict e-learning strategy could hurt their students more than help them. In the last 30 years the United States has slipped from sixth in education worldwide to twenty-seventh (Bendix, 2018) . What is the future of e-learning in our education system? Can it help our students, or could it hurt them even more?
